A pleasant surprise
They bring out John Fogerty to rock out with two of those rock-n-roll cornerstones they love to show off for ol’ school rock: Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis.
(Little Richard’s still sounding good… Jerry’s calmed down considerably, but he’s still got it on the keys.)
And then I see someone I thought I’d never see again: Kenny Aronoff, bangin’ on the skins!
Kenny was one of the ’80s best drummers — working with John Mellencamp in his Cougar days, the BoDeans, Bonnie Raitt, Belinda Carlisle… you name it, he was there.
Still looking good. Still hammering away. Good stuff, Mr. Aronoff!
And it just got really good in here.
So here comes the Grammys chairman… Mr. Harris, AKA Jimmy Jam… wonder what he’s…
HOLY CRAP IT’S THE TIME!!!!!!!!
Morris! Jerome! Jesse! Terry! WOW.
And I’ll need some time to enjoy Jungle Love. Ohweeohweeohweeoh!
Morris, ya lookin’ good…
And is that Rihanna? And she’s singing Um-ber-ella. And it sounds damn good.
Wow. NICE GOIN’ GRAMMYS.

New Frontiers is where the edge of the envelope meets the corners of the mind. It’s about those who try harder to make the world just a little more interesting. It’s also the name of a Donald Fagen song, on the album The Nightfly.
Stuff I'm interested in. Stuff I enjoy. Stuff that makes me happy. The stuff that makes life good.
